From The ashes comes O2/Wafflehat? Or is OiNK coming back?

http://wtfsauce.net/wafflehat/index.php?blog=2

First he reports:

Oink is only dead without the community. Myself and other developers have realized this and a new project is underway. This blog will be the primary source of updates. A name is not confirmed but you can consider wafflehat or o2 the codename.

Updates thus far:
- We have decided to use TPB’s host and obtain servers in Sweden.
- We will be using the torrentbits code.
- The site will be nearly identical to the pink palace as far as rules go.

Then he comments:

After speaking to an original administrator it is now apparent to me that the officials may be bringing back the original. Alot of this depends on OiNK himself. More about this will be available weeks into the future.

If not, we are continuing to work on this.

Our Hearts can not take this waffling! We want you back OiNK!

with this new site would all users be let back on, or how would we need to obtain invites back into it?

I never was a member of OiNK community, but it always seemed as something I want to be a part of. Even from the outside. I have tried to get the invitation on many occasions, but never any luck. I sincerely hope OiNK will be coming back, so I can continue my struggle for an invitation. :) It was kind of addictive, you see...

I find it funny all the people that bad mouth OiNK. I was a member for almost a year and tried to maintain a ratio of 1.5 or greater. I always found it easy to locate any music and was IN LOVE WITH the top 10. I NEVER had any problem with any moderators for any reason. They were tight with the rules which is what made the community what it was, ELITE! I wish people would stop putting down the late OiNK because they couldn't play by the rules and not get banned.

VIVA LA OiNK!!!

Funny, that. They banned me for "cheating". I wasn't cheating. They're twats.

william should have read the rules!

Oink is finally shut down after months of investigations in which rumors swirled that the tracker
was taken down by several Recording Industry Associations. Although the rumors proved to be somewhat true,
the tracker and website are still being hosted on a Canadian ISP but now must block all Canadian traffic.
This latest decision mirrors the recent situations with other public trackers Isohunt and TorrentSpy which were
forced to block access to US & UK users. Although the forums and the site in general still seem to be in somewhat
of disarray, the admins promise to have it up and running at full pace in a few days.

Looks fishy as hell. They are going to ressurrect a site that had evolved over 3 years in a week?

Even with alleged "backups from a 3rd party"?

If its legit, It will take off from word of mouth. Calling it Oink is the stupidest thing they could do, however. And "completely legal"? Oink was compeletely legal on paper- and we've seen what happens when the spirit of law meets the BPI mafia.

It will be far better if there were splinter sites, catering to a specific type of userbase/music genre with a cap of 25,000 users at the most.
