Poll: Based on hype alone: Who do you think will replace OiNK?

Vote to your right there, Jerky.

Name Registered Users Torrents

What.cd 5,458 users 9,997 torrents

Waffles.fm unknown (200 was reported)

Libble.com 5,566 users 9,028 torrents

stmusic.org 33,686 users 19,834 torrents

Funkytorrents.com 12,500 users 9,669 torrents

As you can see Funky has the highest torrent to user ratio. But stmusic has highest amount of users and torrents. It will be interesting. We should take a look at these stats by the end of the week and see what's changed.

anyway my vote goes to the backup harddrives being used and oink going back just like there was a month long domain change.

why do you guys hate oink so much?

his official new site is oink.6x.to so i`m gonna support it!

btw trent raznor was member of oink! http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2007/10/trent_reznor_and_saul_williams.html

BTW at http://www.blackcats-games.net/ (game tracker) it says on the left “to support us buy t-shirts”) and its a link to cafepress .. exactly the same where paine always links to. and the link is the same just www.cafepress.com/blackcats_games and for paine its www.cafepress.com/something_else … so he DOES get money from their affiliate programm cos they pay this for every shop. Paine is now banned from oink cummunity for life!

Please stop mentioning oink.6x.to in public its a private site!

Libble.com is an awesome place. Funkytorrents is a community-less Russian tracker. STmusic has a terrible layout.

What.cd and waffles.fm both seem promising, only time will tell though as they are both startups.

It's easy for trackers that have been open to the public like STmusic and FunkyTorrents to have the most users...they are full of n00bs!

If I were an ex-OiNKer out there, I'd keep my eye on Libble.com, waffles.fm, and what.cd.

funkytorrents.com would be great if they had the server capacity to even pull off a weekend leech-fest. Only 12,500 users and the place completely shuts down. Kinda sad.

oink.cx.la got all our hopes, what.cd looks promising, waffles seems to be a scam, softmp3 got some nice feautures, filemp3 got many new releases..

So far I am bugged by the pop-up on the new OiNK page....but maybe they are just doing it for now for monetary purposes? Anyone else get this pop-up?

Anonymous said...

@fakeplastic:
email to waffles@beau.ws and provide proof of a previous OiNK account, and if they hold up their end of the bargain, you should get an invite when the "officially" release the site.

oink.6x.to is getting ddos by riaa and ifpi so they are changing hosts and it seems one of their hosts put an ad into the site.but please dont talk about them in public you can use the old site forums for that once you have the link to the tracker :)

Anonymous said...

uhm, as you can see what.cd has the highest torrents/user ratio.
I hope all of them will contribute to create a viable replacement to OiNK.

I'm on funkytorrents, libble, what.cd .. and I love funkytorrents the most .. Sure the forums are a tragedy, but I just like it! Libble is second .. and what.cd is just frustrating at the moment. No one's taking anything (and I mean my uploads specifically :( )I've upped everything from rock to trance to hip-hop. So annoying.
