I just don't know

EDIT: I'm a little embarrassed over this post. I had an emo moment. Blame on the beers I had at band practice tonight. I've left it up to keep some semblance of journalistic integrity. The tone of this blog has been to be honest at all times. If even if it makes my asshat fit so tight I can't get it off.

I just don't know anymore.

Should I keep posting "insider info"?

I mean it's pretty retarded as is. The idea of "outing" websites.

I mean first of all the rule is if it's on the internet then it's not a secret.

WE ALL KNOW THIS.

In some way this helps those that aren't as astute as I and my fellow lurkers.

But how does it help? So you know the latest gossip and happenings?

At this point isn't this blog the same as some retarded celebrity mag?

Don't get me wrong, I like retarded celebrity mags, but only when I take a dump. If I don't have a good crossword US or People will do just fine.

It's a distraction.

Am I helping you with your daily distraction?

Should I even care?

Ahhh, please, keep it coming! Even though it doesn't actually solve anything, it's mighty nice to know what's going on. It helps calm down the fearful among us.

Keep it coming man! I have this set as my home page as this seems to be a great spot for the news that is coming out.

I'd like to see the blog continue if it actually stays within its mission. Look at your own "Never Forget" blurb.
-- compassion ... learning ... reflection, and most of all a site to commemorate OPP. I think the artwork is good. I also think discussing efforts to re-create OPP or actively step in and fill the void are welcome and useful.

What I think you should avoid is blogging about other trackers who clearly are not trying to fill that role and are not comfortable with the attention your blog is generating. That would best indicate that you are using this experience to reflect, learn, and be compassionate.

This is the first good source of information I found regarding Oink after it went down. I've really appreciated everything. You let me know details about what had happened, how the media was handling it, that Oink is ok, pointed me to legal precedence which showed that I'M going to be ok, pointed me to Oink merchandise which I may be getting in tribute, and showed how the remnants of Oink are dispersing to other communities and torrent sites.

While some of the "fan art" has been pretty retarded, this blog has been a good comfort to me overall. Oink did a lot for me (believe it or not, I think it has indirectly lead to an artistic future for me beyond college).

In short, keep it up. Thanks.

dude, lets see this blog as the only way to keep good old OiNK alive....if this blog dies, all the pink hopes, feelings and toughts will go straight to the drain

Anonymous said...

No. Just no. Find something better to do with your time... please.

you need to keep posting. to tell with the haters. you are providing a service and we appreciate it.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, I must say I'm really enjoying the blog. It's nice to know the OiNK community is still together in spirit..

Anonymous said...

Yeah, I agree with all the other posters. I check this blog numerous times a day to learn about whats going on with oink. Please keep it coming. You are doing a great service for more people than you may realize.

Anonymous said...

yes, please
because if oink comes back
i need someone to inform me of this happening
:D

Anonymous said...

Please keep it up. You've certainly keot lots of oinkers informed in these hard times.

jesus, you are so right

Leave all the other trackers alone- but keep updates from OiNK mods and admins.

I'm not trying to replace OiNK- but I want to know what the latest is on those involved.

If the sky begins to fall- I a heads up.

I *want* a heads up.

-sorry

beautiful post.

Please keep it up man, I really appreciate the info about whats going on. You need to at least keep this going for the next couple months, if it turns out that lawsuits are filed against users this will be an invaluable resource.
Also, if you feel info about other trackers is relevant post that as well. Any complaints about that are god damned ridiculous, if a tracker wants to stay under the radar they just need to limit the number of users they accept. CASE FUCKING CLOSED.

GTFO

I'm checking you almost every hour for updates. Keep it up.

Anonymous said...

Dude, you're not professional. Anything you know, the people who are searching for can find elsewhere. Keep those of us who can't search a lot updated.

Like everyone else has been saying, this blog has been a great source for me to keep up on what's happening with OiNK and the mods and possibility of a return.

While I've been kind of disappointed at the immature and assholeish attitudes of some members towards the closure and to OiNK himself in the fan art and especially in the IRC interview (Jesus, the man's life has been temporarily fucked because of the service he provided for you, even if it is the internet, show some respect).

However, this site has been great and at least for the next couple weeks it'd be great to keep the posts coming. It's an easy way to keep informed and I appreciate all the work you guys are putting into it.

Ditch the fan art and just stay with the news, that is.

the internet is a very public place.
so is new orleans, louisiana.
do i walk around nailing big red signs that say "whorehouse" on every brothel in new orleans? no. because i don't want to somehow inadvertently spoil your fun at the whorehouse.

Anonymous said...

Yeah keep posting .. And the biggest reason for that is all the flamers, which obviously goes to show what a successful-garbage-dump-blog this is .. Seriously this is fun :D

And to anyone telling him to get a life ..Can you get more stupid?

Anonymous said...

the pink background really calms my nerves. I check this site about once an hour at least.

besides, i don't know all the good "lurk" spots...

Anonymous said...

hey just wanted to say I like your blog. it`s better than the "other blog" :)

You were the first too! Those lazy bums of ex-mods (to fill the team page) are some lazy bums!

BTW do you have any news about oink.cx.la ? It is confirmed by at least 2 sides now that they really have the OiNK Userdata and will re-open OiNK on Nov 1 on 3 Servers worldwide.

Anonymous said...

Keep on going

Anonymous said...

It's a good source for those of us too lazy and/or busy to properly follow what's going on. Keep it up.

Anonymous said...

i check this blog at least a few times an hour, please keep it coming!! everything you are doing is very appreciated :D

This is an opportunity for us. We are, 150,000 plus strong. This is a chance to create a platform. I made some great friends and acquaintances on Oink, and I'm confident we can all put our great minds together, and collaborate change. These thugs RIAA, BPI etc) have been running rampant for too long. Public Enemy struck fear upon our nation's security, with just over 2,000 men. We are much bigger guys. We're not here to strike fear, but we should fight back, shit we're obviously smarter...
Raise the United Palace Guard!

I would like to get news concerning OiNK... and this is pretty much why I subscribed (RSS) to this blog.

I also like the art you're posting, but you need to distance your posts a little and organize it a bit more.
Post for every crappy (and good) picture you receive from a an OiNK fan is just too much.

Anonymous said...

Yes please keep it coming!
I visit your website everytime I load up Firefox just to see if there is anything new happening.
As I do not like to go through a whole bunch of links just to find out new information about OiNK and OiNK himself.

Anonymous said...

Our group of friends that were members of OINK support you 100%.

Keep up the fight, many of us have you all in our thoughts, and hope for the best.

Don't forget, people do care!

I'm the owner of stmusic.org, and honestly I don't care... There don't seem to be a whole lot of people reading this blog (relatively) and we already have a vast userbase and exposure on this blog isn't really going to attract anymore attention than we can deal with.

Anonymous said...

ignore the haters and pls keep posting!
u've been doing a great job informing us and calming us down man!

Elwood said...

That read like a suicide note.

I check your blog daily! Thanks for keeping everyone in the loop. If future torrent site info isn't published here it will just be "outted" somewhere else, and at least you have a nice logo, authentic color scheme, and a sense of humor. I think everyone agrees that one of the things that made Oink so great was the community, so lets not start turning on each other.

Anonymous said...

Don't be Dumbledore! Keep Posting...

Anonymous said...

Dude, just, don't be like this! This is the most reliable source on the web I have found and it's so good to see that the community is still at large! Keep em comming man! It's not like you can compare yourself with some shitty magazine. Me and a lot of my friends from the Netherlands read this stuff, just to keep posted about newsflashes about OiNK. We all give eachother links if there is some new stuff online here. So please... Don't talk yourself down.

Anonymous said...

Please keep it going! I love this blog.

Anonymous said...

Like another poster said, keep up the good work blogging about OiNK (the person), the legal situation, what will happen with the site, what efforts are happening to step in, etc. Anything directly related to OiNK should be fair game.

As far as other trackers, leave them alone unless they are actively trying to lure OiNK.cd users. Be polite, let the private trackers be. They never caused trouble for OiNK users and we shouldn't be giving them crap just because stuff is messed up right now.
